Para-Rowing Training Camp and 12th Tunis Lake International Rowing Regatta

The Tunisian Rowing Federation organizes in collaboration with the International Rowing Federation (FISA) and the financial support of AGITOS foundation, the first international training course of Para-rowing in the Africa, from 03 to 10 February 2019 at the Tunis Lake International Rowing Development Center:

The training camp is run by two FISA coaches (the South African Barry Mc Neice and the Italian Luca Vigentini) under the management of Yihuan Chang, the FISA development manager.

The participant country in this training camp focused on the Paralympic Boat Single Man and Woman (PR1 M1X & PR1 W1X) are:

Tunisia with two athletes: Sabah Jebali and Meher Fatnassi and their coaches Olfa Khammessi and Akram Othmani.

Libya with an athlete Abdurrahman Driss and his coach Mohamed Rabti

Nigeria with two athletes Kingsley Njoma and Alayode Oluwtoyin and their coach Jimoh Babatunde

South Africa athlete Sandra Khumalo and her coach Reginald Mitileni.

Two expert classifiers namely Simon Goodey from Great Britain and Cindy Davis from Australia came to classify athletes and organize a Workshop for Tunisian classifiers.

FISA has donated 5 Paralympic single boats and the Filippi’s Maker has donated one coxed Four , as Tunisia will host in October 2019, the Olympic and Paralympic qualifications for Tokyo 2020.

This training course will be achieved by the Tunis Lake International Rowing Regatta which will be held on February 10th, 2019 from 9.00 am till 01 pm.

The United Arab Emirates, Libya, Nigeria, South Africa, Ivory Coast and Sudan confirmed their participation in this 12th edition Regatta.
